A little bit about Ardlogie Bothy................

The Bothy has been a fixture of Ardlogie for at least 60 years that we can trace and quite probably longer that that. For most of the last 30 odd years the original Bothy was either let on a long term basis as housing for local people, or more recently as staff accommodation for the Old Bridge Inn just along the road from Ardlogie. The original Bothy was last occupied in March 2009.

However, all good things come to an end and we decided that the building had come to the end of it's natural life. So rather than the major refurbishment which would have been required, we have demolished the original Bothy and attached shed and rebuilt from scratch using modern and local materials e.g. the external lining boards are all Scottish Larch. Our new Bothy will be used for short term self catering holiday lets only.

Although always known as the Bothy, it is not a true mountain bothy of course – these are usually isolated old herders huts way up in the hills with only the most basic of facilities, and nowadays used on a first come first serve basis by walkers and climbers. Accommodation

Ardlogie Bothy is a luxury timber built cabin, with all the usual self catering facilities, positioned alongside the guest house and centrally located within Aviemore, yet in a quiet location close to all amenities. It is fully insulated and heated and provides warm cosy accommodation for two (double bed, not twin) at any time of the year. The Bothy has an open plan living/bedroom area with a double bed and flat screen digital TV, a kitchen area with cooker, fridge, microwave, etc and a separate shower room/WC. There is a small outside decking area and an off road parking space right outside.
